Effective Date: August 3, 2026
This Part II explains how ApartmentMaid collects, uses, and shares personal information through the Platform. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in Part I, which governs use of the Platform and incorporates this Part.
We collect: (a) information you provide, including name, email, phone number, service address, access instructions, booking details, communications, reviews, and, for Cleaning Professional applicants, date of birth, government identification documents, a live photograph used to verify identity, and screening and tax information; (b) payment information, which is collected and processed by our payment processor (currently Stripe); we do not store full card numbers; (c) location information associated with the service address and, with permission, device location for arrival tracking; (d) photographs or video of serviced areas taken before or after a booking, where permitted by law, for quality control, verification, and claims; and (e) device and usage information collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referral source.
We use personal information to provide and improve the Platform; create and manage accounts; match, schedule, and complete bookings; process payments and payouts; send transactional messages, including arrival tracking, by SMS, email, push notification, and in-app message; provide customer support; administer the Clean Guarantee and investigate damage, theft, and other claims; run screening for Cleaning Professionals; prevent fraud and enforce Part I; comply with law; and, with consent where required, send marketing. You may opt out of marketing at any time; transactional messages continue while you use the Platform. Message and data rates may apply to SMS; reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help.
We share personal information: with the Cleaning Professional assigned to your booking (name, address, access details, and booking scope); with service providers acting on our behalf, including payment processing, background screening, hosting, analytics, and communications delivery; with Partners, limited to booking status and aggregate data needed to administer referral programs, and never payment data; in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets; to comply with law, enforce Part I, or protect rights, safety, and property; and with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Before and after photographs are limited to serviced areas, are stored securely, are used only for quality control, verification, safety, and dispute resolution, and are retained no longer than needed for those purposes. Government identification, identity verification photographs, and any other sensitive personal information are used solely for identity verification, screening, security, and legal compliance, are never used for marketing, and are retained only as long as those purposes require. Access codes and key information are encrypted or restricted to personnel and Cleaning Professionals who need them for your booking. You are responsible for disclosing any recording devices active in your home during a booking where law requires.
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential Platform functions, analytics, and, where permitted, advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit functionality. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We retain personal information as long as needed for the purposes above, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes, then delete or de-identify it. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act, but no system is completely secure.
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to receive a portable copy, and to appeal a denial. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, will not face discrimination for exercising them, and may designate an authorized agent. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out is required, but you may contact us to confirm. To exercise rights, email [email protected] with your name and the email or phone number on your account; we will verify your identity before responding, within the time law requires.
The Platform is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Part by posting the revised version with a new effective date and, for material changes, providing notice through the Platform. Direct privacy questions and requests to [email protected] or the address in Part I, Section 30.
To exercise your privacy rights under CCPA or applicable state laws, please email [email protected] with your name and the contact info associated with your account.
